Before Your Treatment
Provide a detailed and accurate medical history including medications, allergies and previous aesthetic treatments/complications.
Consider the aftercare instructions/downtime as well as timeline for expected results prior to scheduling your treatment. Do not undergo aesthetic treatments right before a vacation or special event.
Avoid tanning, hair removal, sunburn and active skin care ingredients such as retinol immediately prior to treatment. Ensure the area to be pierced is clean and free of makeup, lotions, or oils.
Cancel your appointment if you are acutely ill or have a rash or cold sore in the treatment area. Those with a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex 1) should take a course of antiviral medication in advance of procedures in the perioral area.
Eat a light meal and stay hydrated before your appointment.
Wear comfortable clothing that won’t rub against or put pressure on the new piercing site.
Bring valid identification (if required for age verification).
What To Expect At Your Treatment
Your provider will begin with ‘before’ photos and will review steps, expectations and instructions. The area to be pierced will be cleansed and marked.
During piercing, clients usually feel a sharp pinch followed by heat in the surrounding area which typically resolves within a few hours.
The new piercing will be re-cleansed with antiseptic spray
After Your Treatment
Do not touch your piercing unless necessary and then only do so with freshly washed hands
Do not spin, turn, OR adjust your piercing
Avoid swimming and hot tubs until healed
Use 1-2 sprays of the aftercare product provided on the front and back of your piercing twice daily and as needed for increased redness or soreness
Try your best not to place pressure on your piercing while sitting, laying and sleeping
If downsizing is necessary after 5-10 weeks, please book another appointment with us for a jewelry change
